Letter to Hungarian Devotees, 30 December 2001

Dear Devotees

Please accept my blessings, all glories to Srila Prabhupada.

I am sitting in Vrndavana thinking of you all. Although my body is here, my heart is there. I always travel in Hungary, I constantly preach in Budapest and I serve eternally in New Vraja Dhama.

Despite many obstacles, you are doing so much to spread Krsna Consciousness in your country. It is to your great credit. Caitanya Mahaprabhu notices every little service and records it in each devotee s spiritual ledger. Gaura is never ungrateful. Any little service places Him in your debt.

Translate, sell books, preach, hold festivals, distribute prasadam, make devotees, defeat the scientists, give money, worship the deity and build temples. Do not worry about the difficulties from government or others. No one can stop Lord Caitanya s movement. It is destined to succeed. One day your countrymen will officially thank you for introducing this spiritual culture, which has brought light in the dense darkness of Kali.

Difficulties to push on service are but steps upon the stairway back to Godhead. Serve Nitai, He is guru, fully represented by Srila Prabhupada. Follow Prabhupada s instructions and you will get Nitai s grace. With Nitai s grace Gaura s mission will flourish. People from Miskolc to Sopron will chant and dance in ecstasy. That day is coming.

When Gaura is pleased, He will take You to the lotus feet of Radha Syama in Vraja. There, all sorrow and unhappiness will vanish and you will remain eternally. We will all serve there together. After all, we are eternally connected. Prabhupada and his guru-maharaja have sent you here for this mission.

I am one person. My life is for Srila Prabhupada. I have nothing but his service. But what can I do alone? You have all joined together to help and now Krsna Consciousness is spreading like wildfire. It will continue to do so if you remain focused and pure. Sacrifice this one life for Gauranga s service, and see the result. You will be happy, all Hungarians will be happy, and Hungary will become the first Krsna Conscious nation in Europe. It is possible. Vaisnavas dream of impossible things and Krsna s pleasure is to make those impossible dreams possible.
